Family asks for help finding missing truck driver

Friends and family are asking for help from the trucking community in locating a truck driver who went missing at a North Carolina truck stop last week.

According to multiple Facebook posts shared by friends and family members, truck driver Wayne Person went missing from the TA truck stop in Mocksville, North Carolina, on Thursday, May 9. He has not been heard from since, his family says.

On Monday, May 13, Facebook user Barbie Martinez wrote:

Wayne Person is still missing. He went missing Thursday, May 9th at 7pm. His truck was found running at the TA truck stop in Mocksville, NC. There was some confusion at which truck stop. But that has since been verified by the detective. Just spoke to the detectives. There was no surveillance at the truck stop. No new leads. If you have any information that may help please call Det. Cameron Jones at 336-345-6052 or get a hold of me or Ashley Person. Thank you. Please share and bring him home safe and sound.

Martinez gave CDLLife a description of Person:

“Wayne is short, stocky build. 5’5 approximately 280 lbs. He has a tattoo on his right wrist. He should have on a silver ring with 3 bands. He always wears his red shorts and red baseball cap that says California under the bill of the hat.”

Friends and family are asking anyone who has information on Person’s disappearance to call Detective Cameron Jones at 336-345-6052.
