Tornado Tears Across Kansas

We were having a family outing in the backyard grilling steaks, playing catch and watching the clouds roll in. The clouds looked awesome. We stepped into the house for a bit when my wife yelled for me to come outside. I came out, ran through the garage and there it was. I was so surprised by what I was seeing that unfortunately, I didn't get it from the beginning. The video is good but doesn't do it justice. Nothing comes close to being there and experiencing the real thing. It started there and ended some 30 miles away where it is said to have been the equivalent of an F4-5 tornado. The weather service warns that the storm system could bring “numerous tornadoes, several intense and long track, widespread damaging winds, some hurricane force, and widespread large hail, some baseball size.”

Weather expert Mike Smith called the storm system “the nightmare scenario.”

Forecaster Roger Edwards warned that the storm system had the potential to claim many lives.
