Semi-truck driver hospitalized after wreck Sunday near Quincy

QUINCY – An Idaho truck driver was hospitalized after a wreck Sunday night on state Route 281 about two miles south of Quincy.

Rollie Ronish, a 20-year-old Quincy man, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado east on Road 7 Northwest. He reportedly ran the stop sign at the intersection with SR 281 and struck a northbound 2014 Kenworth semi-truck, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Debris from the wreck also struck a southbound 2002 Acura RSX.

Ronish’s pickup truck continued off the road and came to rest off the northwest corner of the intersection. State troopers say he was not injured.

The driver of the semi-truck, Eric D. Mitchell, a 32-year-old Idaho man, was taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center for an unknown medical issue.

The state patrol cited Ronish for distracted driving and failing to stop at a stop sign.
